About
Welcome to the Vigentini’s Web Portal!
This site is intended as a portal to access services offered by the members of the Vigentini family, their partners and associates. It is also offering a portfolio of activities and projects to demonstrate the strengths and value of a family-related community effort.
The unique approach of this site and its originality has its foundations in the attempt to pull together the expertise of the various family members and create networking and business opportunities which go beyond the closer family relatives and the founder of this project.
Why a ‘family’ site? After I have been living in Scotland for the past nine years I learnt to appreciate some of the historical and cultural aspect of this country. The aspect which I found most interesting and which is lacking in the English culture is the value given to the family structure. In Scotland however the family nucleus is often extended and associated with the idea of Clan.
“Scottish clans give a sense of identity and shared descent to people in Scotland and to their relatives throughout the world, with a formal structure of Clan Chiefs officially registered with the court of the Lord Lyon, King of Arms which controls the heraldry and Coat of arms. Each clan has its own tartan patterns, usually dating to the 19th century, and those identifying with the clan can wear kilts of the appropriate tartan as a badge of membership and as a uniform where appropriate. Clans identify with geographical areas originally controlled by the Chiefs, usually with an ancestral castle, or manor and clan gatherings form a regular part of the social scene.” (more on the original website).
